Preface Since the BOOT pin of the regular versions of M61 and M62 modules is a round pad on the back, and some customers need secondary flashing after mounting the module on their boards without a BOOT pin brought out on the back, this tutorial is provided.
Special Note This article guides how to flash the M61 and M62 when the BOOT pin is not brought out. This flashing method requires a dedicated host software tool and a specific USB-to-TTL adapter; please read through it patiently.
Tool Preparation- USB-to-TTL tool After testing, this tool requires a serial chip whose actual baud rate supports 2000000 (2M) to work. The serial chips tested here are CH340C and FT232. It is recommended to ask the customer service for the corresponding FT232 serial tool when purchasing the module.

- Host software tool The host software version here is 1.9.0, a specially processed tool package. Download and use it via the following link: Software download

- Module wiring This step omits the BOOT wiring, so theoretically we only need to connect 4 wires (you can also bring out the EN pin for easier reset).

- Steps Open the tool, enter the configuration interface shown below, select the firmware, and plug in the module with the fly wires.

Back in the software interface, refresh the serial port, click Flash, and wait for flashing to complete. Reset according to the prompt: unplug/replug GND or VCC to reset (or toggle the EN pin low/high to reset).

Tips (1) If it cannot enter flash mode, check whether the serial chip supports it; the chip baud rate must be at least 2M or higher; (3) If the wiring and serial port are normal but a red failure log still appears, try clicking Flash again and resetting;
End This flashing method is only applicable to updating AT firmware produced by Ai-Thinker. If you are doing your own secondary development, please bring out the BOOT pin for use (this flashing operates on boot2; modules that have never been flashed with boot2 are not supported).
